In its original incarnation, the Canadian hard rock band Nickelback featured Chad and Mike Kroeger (vocals/guitar and bass, respectively), their cousin Brandon (drums) and Ryan Peake (guitar). The band released an EP - length demo ("Hesher") followed by a debut album, Curb that fared well in their home country, and toured incessantly to capitalize on their burgeoning popularity.
When Brandon left, the band finally settled on Ryan Vikedal to take over drumming duties. The success of the single "Leader Of Men" off their second, self - produced album brought labels to their door clamoring for a deal. The band signed with Roadrunner Records, who re - released their second album, The State, in 2000.
In 2001, the band went on to release their third album "Silver Side Up". This proved to be a huge hit throughout the world, with the tracks "How You Remind Me", "Too Bad" and "Never Again" being released as singles.
In 2003 the band released their fourth album, "The Long Road" and to date songs that are or are set to be released include "Someday", "Feelin' Way Too Damn Good" and "Figured You Out".
